Privacy Policy
How we look after the personal information you share with us when you enquire about or book a safari — on this website and in our app.
Who we are
Wildtouch Tours & Travel (“Wildtouch”, “we”, “us”) is an owner-managed safari operator based at Rehani House, 10th Floor, Koinange Street, Nairobi, Kenya. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy, and you can contact us about it at bookings@wildtouchafrica.com.
The information we collect
- Enquiry & contact details — when you complete an enquiry or contact form, or email us, we collect your name, email address, phone number and the travel details you choose to share (dates, party, interests and any message).
- Booking information — if you go on to book, we collect what is needed to arrange your safari, such as traveller names, passport details for permits and internal flights, and dietary or medical needs you tell us about.
- Technical information — like most websites, our servers and analytics record limited technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to keep the site secure and understand how it is used.
Our mobile app
Wildtouch Tours & Travel is also available as an app for iPhone and Android. You can browse the safaris, the park guides and the seasonal information without giving us anything at all. Where the app does handle information, this is what happens:
- Enquiries — an enquiry or call-back request sent from the app reaches us exactly as one sent from this website, and is handled the same way.
- The Safari Designer — our planning assistant is powered by Anthropic, who process the conversation on our behalf so it can reply. Please don't type passport numbers, payment details or medical information into it; send those to us directly when the time comes.
- Your trip login — if you have booked with us, we create a login for you so you can see your own itinerary and invoices. We hold your email address and a sign-in record; your session is stored on your own device until you sign out. Invoices link out to our payment provider, who take the payment on their own site — we never see or hold your card or bank details.
- Notifications — if you allow them, we store the notification token for your device so we can send you trip news. You can turn notifications off in your phone's settings at any time.
- App analytics and maps — like the website, the app records which screens are opened, using a random identifier created on your device rather than anything that names you. Our analytics and mapping providers see the approximate area you are in, worked out from your internet connection. The app does not ask for your precise location, does not use an advertising identifier, and carries no advertising.
You can ask us to delete your app data and your trip login in the same way as anything else here — see deleting your account.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare a tailored itinerary and quote.
- To arrange and manage your safari, including bookings with camps, lodges, guides and airlines.
- To communicate with you about your trip before, during and after travel.
- To keep records we are required to keep, and to improve our website and service.
We do not send marketing email unless you have asked to hear from us, and you can opt out at any time.
Legal bases (for visitors in the UK / EEA)
Where this applies to you, we rely on: your consent (for optional cookies and any marketing); the performance of a contract (to plan and deliver a safari you have booked); and our legitimate interests (to respond to enquiries and run our business), balanced against your rights.
Cookies & analytics
We use essential cookies to make the site work, and analytics to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may affect how the site works.
Who we share it with
We share your information only as needed to run our service, and never sell it. This may include:
- Trusted service providers who host the website and app, deliver our email, run our analytics and maps, power the Safari Designer, and help us manage enquiries. They act on our instructions and cannot use your information for their own purposes.
- The camps, lodges, ground handlers, guides and airlines needed to fulfil the specific safari you book.
- Authorities or advisers where we are required to by law.
Some of these providers may process data outside your home country, including in Kenya. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure your information stays protected.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as needed to handle your enquiry or booking and to meet our legal and accounting obligations, then delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, or restrict or object to how we use it. To do any of these, email bookings@wildtouchafrica.com. If you are in the UK or EEA and are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
