Owner-Managed Kenya Safaris — No Crowds, Direct with the Trip Designer

Deal directly with the people who design and run your safari — no sales desk in between — and travel the private conservancies where the vehicles are few and the wildlife has room to breathe.

Plan with the Wildtouch team

Wildtouch Tours & Travel is a Nairobi-based, owner-managed operator led by founder Jacob Munene, and this is the way we have always worked: you plan your Kenya safari directly with the people who design it and run it on the ground. There is no call centre and no sales desk to hand you off — the person who listens to what you want is the person who briefs your guide and stays reachable while you travel.

That matters most in two places. First, in the planning: an owner-led team can shape length, camps, pace and route around you honestly, and say plainly when an idea won't work as well as you hope. Second, in where we take you — the private conservancies bordering the Maasai Mara, where vehicle numbers are capped and a sighting isn't shared with a queue of minibuses.

It is a quieter, more personal way to see Kenya, and it is the whole reason an owner-managed operator exists. You are not one booking in a spreadsheet; you are planning a trip with the small team who will see it through.

What does an owner-managed safari operator actually mean?

It means the business is run by the people who plan and deliver the safaris, not by a sales department selling trips a separate outfit fulfils. With Wildtouch, founder Jacob Munene and the team design your itinerary, book the camps, brief the guide and answer the phone while you're away — one point of contact from first enquiry to the drive back to the airport.

The practical benefit is continuity and candour. Nothing is lost in a handover between a booking agent and an unseen ground operator, and the advice you get is the advice of the people who run these routes themselves, season after season.

How do you keep a Kenya safari away from the crowds?

The single biggest lever is where you stay. The Maasai Mara National Reserve is superb but popular, and at a river crossing in high season the vehicles gather. The private conservancies that ring the Mara — among them Naboisho, Mara North, Olare Motorogi and Ol Kinyei — cap how many vehicles and camps operate on their land, so game viewing is shared with far fewer people, and off-road driving, night drives and guided walks become possible.

Beyond the Mara, Laikipia conservancies such as Ol Pejeta add rhino and space of their own. We build itineraries that lean on these lower-density areas, and we time your days — early starts, later returns — to sidestep the busiest hours even in the public parks.

Do I plan with the same person start to finish?

Yes. From your first message to the itinerary, the fixed quote and the small adjustments once you're travelling, you deal with the Wildtouch team directly. Because we are owner-managed, that continuity is built in rather than promised — there is no larger machine to route you through.

Owner-managed safaris, explained

Will I really deal directly with the trip designer, not a call centre?
Yes. Wildtouch is owner-managed, so you plan directly with the small team who design and run the safari — founder Jacob Munene and colleagues. The person who shapes your itinerary is the person who briefs your guide and stays reachable while you travel. There is no separate sales desk in between.
How do private conservancies help me avoid the crowds in Kenya?
Private conservancies bordering the Maasai Mara — such as Naboisho, Mara North, Olare Motorogi and Ol Kinyei — cap the number of vehicles and camps on their land, so a sighting is shared with far fewer people than in the public reserve. They also allow off-road driving, night drives and guided walks. We build itineraries around these lower-density areas.
Is Wildtouch Tours & Travel a good safari company?
Wildtouch Tours & Travel is an owner-managed, Nairobi-based operator with travellers' reviews on TripAdvisor. Every safari is planned by the Wildtouch team and run by that same team on the ground, so the trip you book is the trip we run ourselves — there is no sales desk between you and the people in the bush.
Do you offer private, privately guided safaris with your own vehicle and guide?
Yes — every Wildtouch safari is private: an exclusive-use 4×4 with a dedicated guide, on your own schedule, never a fixed group departure. You set the rhythm of each day, from a dawn start to a slow morning in camp.
