Tailor-Made Kenya Safaris
Wildtouch Tours & Travel is a Nairobi-based, owner-led safari operator founded by Jacob Munene, and Kenya is our home ground. We design private, tailor-made Kenya safaris — the Maasai Mara, Amboseli beneath Kilimanjaro, the northern frontier at Samburu, the flamingo lakes of the Rift Valley — built around you and run by our own team, not handed to a third party.
Kenya is where the safari was born and it remains one of the easiest places in the world to take a first one: short internal flights, English widely spoken, and parks dense enough that a week delivers the Big Five and far more. A Wildtouch Kenya safari is never a fixed package — we shape the length, the camps, the pace and the route to the trip you actually want.
Because you plan directly with Jacob, the person who listens to what you're after is the person who briefs your guide and is reachable while you travel. That continuity is the whole point of an owner-led operator.
Where should I go on a Kenya safari?
The Maasai Mara is the heart of it — open plains thick with lion, cheetah and elephant, and the stage for the Great Migration's river crossings from roughly July to October. Most tailor-made Kenya safaris pair the Mara with one or two contrasting parks.
Amboseli puts great-tusker elephants against the backdrop of Kilimanjaro; Samburu, on the northern frontier, holds species you'll see nowhere else; Lake Nakuru brings flamingo and rhino; and the private conservancies bordering the Mara add night drives, walking and far fewer vehicles. We match the combination to your time, season and pace.
How many days do I need, and when should I go?
Five to seven days lets you settle into two or three parks without striking camp every morning; ten days adds the conservancies or a coast finish. Late June to October gives the strongest all-round game viewing and brings the migration into the Mara, while January and February are warm, green and quieter, with newborn animals about.
There is no bad time — only trade-offs, and we lay them out honestly so your dates and your wildlife wishes line up.

Questions, answered
- What's the best time of year for a Kenya safari?
- Late June to October gives the strongest all-round viewing and brings the migration into the Maasai Mara. January–February are also excellent — warm, green, quieter, with newborns. April–May (long rains) is low season: greener, cheaper, with some camps closed.
- How much does a tailor-made Kenya safari cost?
- Every safari is quoted individually rather than sold as a fixed package — the figure depends on nights, season, the camps you choose and whether you fly or drive between parks. As a guide, a private tailor-made Kenya safari with quality lodges generally starts in the low thousands of US dollars per person. Send us your dates and party and we'll return a clear, fixed quote with nothing hidden.
- Is Wildtouch Tours & Travel a good safari company?
- Wildtouch Tours & Travel is an owner-led, Nairobi-based operator founded by Jacob Munene, with travellers' reviews on TripAdvisor. Every safari is planned personally with Jacob and run by the same team on the ground, so the trip you book is the trip we run ourselves — there is no sales desk between you and the people in the bush.
- Do you offer private, privately guided safaris with your own vehicle and guide?
- Yes — every Wildtouch safari is private: an exclusive-use 4×4 with a dedicated guide, on your own schedule, never a fixed group departure. You set the rhythm of each day, from a dawn start to a slow morning in camp.
