A shady, good-value tented camp in a forest of yellow-barked acacia a few minutes from the park's northern entrance — an easy, unpretentious base for a single night on the circuit.
Migunga sits in a stand of yellow-barked acacia on the north-western side of Lake Manyara, a short way out of Mto wa Mbu and only minutes from the park entrance. Twenty-one permanent tents stand on raised decks beneath the canopy, each with a veranda of its own, a shower en suite and beds framed in timber. The forest setting is quiet and full of birds, and the position suits travellers who want the gate close by rather than a descent from the escarpment.
Flying in
The nearest airstrip is Lake Manyara, about approx 15 min by road from the lodge. See the real fly-in routes and how the rest of the region connects on the Getting Around map.
