The only permanent lodge inside Lake Manyara National Park — ten stilted treehouse suites tucked into mahogany forest at the park's remote southern end, reached by a game drive long enough that few visitors ever make it.
andBeyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is raised on stilts among mahogany in the park's deep south, its structures worked from timber cut nearby and roofed in makuti palm. Ten suites each give onto a wide deck that hangs clear of the forest floor, with elephant browsing beneath often enough to be unremarkable, and a freestanding bath and open-air shower behind. As the park's only permanent lodge, it puts the groundwater forest, the soda lake shore and Manyara's tree-climbing lions within reach at first light rather than after the long descent from the rim.
