A long-established Serena on the Mto wa Mbu escarpment, its whitewashed double-storey rondavels spread along the cliff edge, with an infinity pool that looks straight down into the Rift.
Lake Manyara Serena spreads sixty-seven rooms through circular two-storey rondavels under conical thatch, each with its own small veranda facing the valley. Interiors lean into the lake's birdlife, with Maasai beadwork, hand-woven bird-themed hangings and colours drawn from the flamingos below. Reception, dining and bar are built around the infinity pool at the cliff edge, and the Manyara airstrip is close by, which makes it an easy first or last night on a northern-circuit route.
