Kinasi occupies a wooded hillside above Chole Bay inside the Mafia Island Marine Park, with rooms built and furnished by local craftsmen. Fifteen rooms keep it small, and the layout takes advantage of the slope so most look out over the bay and the reef beyond. The dive and water-sports centre is the most substantial on the island, which makes Kinasi a natural base for guests whose days are built around the water rather than around the beach.
