Architecturally striking conical thatched villas set in a reforested volcanic amphitheatre; the lodge runs a large-scale tree-planting and habitat-restoration programme as part of every stay.

Bisate's six dramatic forest villas spiral up the slopes of an eroded volcanic cone, their conical thatched forms echoing the Royal Palace at Nyanza and framing views of Bisoke and Karisimbi. Beyond its design, the lodge is a flagship for reforestation, with over 120,000 indigenous trees planted on once-degraded land. It is among the most celebrated eco-luxury lodges in Africa for gorilla trekkers. (Wilderness has since added a smaller, more exclusive sister property, Bisate Reserve, with four villas.)
