A resort on the southern shore of Lake Naivasha where hippos come up onto the lawns at night, watched from a secure viewing deck, and waterbuck, giraffe and colobus monkeys live in the grounds.
Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort stands in wooded grounds on Moi South Lake Road, on the southern shore of the lake and outside any national park, roughly 90 minutes to two hours by road from Nairobi. Rooms are in two-storey cottages across the lawns, with balconies upstairs and garden access below, and two ground-floor rooms are wheelchair accessible. There is a pool, a gym, a restaurant and bar and an outdoor dining deck. It is the base for boat rides on the lake, walks on Crescent Island and day trips to Hell's Gate.
