A genuinely family-run, conservation-led lodge on one of Kenya's earliest privately protected conservancies, with a strong focus on family travel and sustainability.
El Karama sits on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in the foothills of Mount Kenya, on a conservancy of over 15,000 acres home to 80 mammal species including elephant, lion, leopard and Grevy's zebra. Accommodation ranges from riverbank cottages and thatched bandas to an exclusive-use private house, all solar-powered. The lodge is intimate and flexible, offering private vehicles and hands-on conservation experiences.
