After an early morning breakfast we’ll leave for Samburu National Reserve. The scenic drive will take us through the lower slopes of Mt. Kenya and across the equator.

Our first stop will be at the equator view point. Theview point provides panoramicscenery of the landscape where you can take pictures to share with friends and family back home as well as get some souvenirs for memory’s sakes.

We shall drive on to Ashnil lodge Samburu Camp, located on the banks of EwasoNyiro River, where we’ll have late lunch.

Ashnil Samburu Lodge has exclusive luxury deluxe tents providing a perfect view of the Ewaso Nyiro River where elephants or crocodiles sometimes come to lounge by the river banks.

After lunch, we shall begin our afternoon game drive from 4 pm in our custom 4×4 safari van with a pop up roof for an easy 360 degree game viewing.

Day 3Full Day Samburu Game Reserve

This fun-filled full day in Samburu begins with an early morning and late afternoon game drive in search of the “Special Five” or “Northern Five” that are only found in this region north of the equator.

The “Special Five” include the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx, Somali Ostrich, and the Gerenuk. The park is also home to the big cats namely the lion, leopard, and cheetah.

Catch the elephants in their special reddish color from dust bathing in the red soil that is characteristic of Samburu.
And when the sun sets, you’ll have a perfect opportunity for Star Gazing as Samburu has a clear night sky.

Accomodation: Ashnil Samburu Lodge
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 4Samburu Game Reserve - Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Today will be another exciting day of our safari and after an early morning breakfast, we will depart Samburu and head for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, and home to three of the world’s last remaining northern white rhino.

We anticipate to arrive in time for lunch at the exclusive Sweetwaters Serena Luxury camp located inside the conservancy and overlooking a water hole that is a center of activity for some of the wildlife that come to quench their thirst.

Our afternoon Game Drive will start with a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary where we get to learn about their rescue stories as well as visit Baraka the Black Rhino. This should be super exciting since the conservancy has a higher wildlife to area ratio than any of the Kenya National Parks.

Overnight: Sweetwaters Serena Camp

Accommodation: Serena Sweetwaters Lodge
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 5Ol Pejata Conservancy - Lake Naivasha

Being a fresh water lake, the Lake Naivasha draws a variety of game to its shores. Catch a glimpse of Giraffes wandering among the acacia, Buffalos wallowing in the swamps and Colobus monkeys calling from the treetops with large hippos whiling away their days dozing in the shallows.

We shall thus arrive in time for Lunch at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort.

Our highlight of the day will be a Boat Excursion on Lake Naivasha as well as a Walking Safari on nearby Crescent Island “Game Park”.

Lake Naivasha once played host to Joy Adamson, the naturalist and author who is probably best known for her book, ‘Born Free’, which described her experiences in raising Elsa, the lion cub who went on to achieve international fame.

The Naivasha Sopa Resort also doubles as a home for Giraffes, Waterbuck, Vervet and Colobus Monkeys. If you are lucky, you may witness hippos that pay regular visits to the Resort by night to trim the grass!

We anticipate arriving at Ashnil Luxury Camp in time for late lunch. The luxury camp is located close to the Mara River and is considered to be the best location for game viewing.

Excitement and pleasant wildlife surprises are plenty in the Mara. Our first game drive in thegame reserve will begin at 4pm. The numerous wildlife sightingsinclude lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards, cheetahs, hippos, crocodiles, wildebeests, zebras, plains game, black rhinos, giraffes and various antelope species. The restaurant offers skewers of game meat and regular meat served with delicious side dishes and sauces. We can also arrange dinner reservations for vegetarians.
